What will you do in this role?
The R&D group of the Transmission and Integrated Photonics Business Unit is seeking a Senior Optical Transceiver Design Engineer to work on the development of the next generation of high-speed optical transceiver modules. As a senior person you will be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to multi-task while working effectively in a team environment. As a Senior Optical Transceiver Design Engineer you will have the opportunity to work as part of a world class engineering team and to contribute to the success of JDSU in this market.
Some of the main responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Circuit design and verification;
  • Selection and characterization of critical optical and electrical components;
  • Development of manufacturing test strategy and test flow;
  • Support for qualification activities;
  • Support for production transfer activities.
What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role?
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Physics/Applied Physics or equivalent education and experience;
  • 5+ years industry experience, preferably in the optoelectronics industry;
  • Strong foundation in digital and analog circuit design;
  • Experienced in RF design and circuit verification;
  • Knowledgeable of high-speed optoelectronic devices (e.g. lasers, detectors, modulators);
  • Multi-disciplinary background with a demonstrated record of innovation.
