Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer/ Engineer to join our highly regarded Engineering team at our Head Office in New Malden, Surrey.
From requirements definition, analysis, architectural design, HMI to full implementation and test, this is a full software lifecycle role with a chance to make an impact each step of the way. You will experience the satisfaction of knowing you are helping ships of the world get from A to B safely.
Hardware interfacing, UI design, infrastructural components and functional features, there is a role to be filled in the development of all of them for our marine radar displays and electronic chart based systems. Whether you want to develop a deep understanding in specialist areas or gain broad experience across the many different aspects of marine navigation, we try to cater for all tastes!
As a team we're a friendly bunch, with a keen sense of humour too. (We would say that though).
Required skills/experience
Software product development in a C style language (you will be using C# once you're established with us)
Object oriented analysis and design
Good written and verbal communication skills
You need to be able to meet the requirements for security clearance at SC level (including five years' residency in the UK)
Desirable skills (you don't need all of these but if you do have any of them, it is an added bonus)
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other numerate subject
Software product development using C#/.Net
Tool-based UML design experience
Use of Design patterns
Version control and Issue Management
Multi-threaded applications
