Outline Job Profile
You will be assigned to a number of exciting software projects to develop and update elements of simulators and engineering tools used for the design and testing of space systems.
The elements of the software you will be working with can be anything from models of the satellite equipments, simulation of data bus networks to the development of different engineering tools.
As a full member of the team from the start, your will be responsible for a broad range of software engineering activities including software requirements analysis, code design and production, to software testing.
An induction and training period will be provided to acquire general knowledge for the application-specific domain. You will continue to build your technical (e.g. C++, Java and Linux OS) and team skills during specific on-the-job skills building activities.

Tasks 

Main Activities
•Reviewing and understanding of the real-life system behaviour and models
•Requirement analysis
•Software detailed design, development, integration and testing
•Simulator/engineering tools validation and acceptance
•Specification and analysis of software modifications

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications and/or Skills
Essential:
• Undergraduate degree preferably in Computer Science, or in Physics, Mathematics or Space/Electrical Engineering but with strong emphasis on computer science and engineering.
• Good knowledge in Object Oriented programming and C++.
• Open minded; Flexible; Pro-active; Likes to work in a translational environment; Good inter-personal skills.

Desirable:
• M.Eng. or Masters in space engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or similar.
• Knowledge in Linux.
• Knowledge in the Eclipse software development environment.

Previous Experience
Essential:
• Demonstrated experience in C++ or Java programming language
• Experience in activities demonstrating the use of sound software engineering principles.
• Experience in team working.

Desirable:
• Experience in modelling & simulation
• Experience in other high-level programming languages e.g. Java
