MAJOR FUNCTION:

Provides Quality Assurance & Environmental Policy support.  Maintain quality assurance procedures, practices and standard evaluation methods that will ensure product quality and integrity.

COMPETENCIES:

1. Ensures that product quality is attained in the assigned product group or program through fulfillment of TOTO quality standards and quality program requirements.
2. Responsible for NCR’s, CAR’s, PAR’s program for ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).
3. Provide direction & coordination of 3rd party ISO inspections & audits.
4. Responsible for internal & external ISO audit programs
5. Write basic required ISO policies and procedures.
6. Compiles statistical data and provides reports to support the ISO management systems.
7. Provides required ISO training to support management systems.
8. Responsible for document control for ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS activities.
9. Investigates field returns of unacceptable product. Issue and analyze summary reports for corrective action.
10. Documents, compiles and reports inspection results.
11. Collect information, develop and issue supplier corrective action request and internal corrective action request.
12. Recommends revisions, corrections or changes determined during inspection.
13. Develop, recommend and update quality procedures.
14. Conducts statistical studies, analysis of data, and issues reports as needed.
15. Provide technical assistance to other departments, suppliers, and customers as needed.
16. Perform quality audits as needed.
17. Review processes and recommend corrective actions.
18. Performs and ensures that competitive sample analysis are completed in a timely manner and forwarded as appropriate.
19. Field trips to suppliers and end users for the purpose of inspections, quality audits, root cause analyses, and implementing corrective and /or preventive actions.
20. Repair of returned customer products, if required.

Job Requirements

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Inspection and/or survey of supplier’s facilities to evaluate adherence to the company’s quality and/or environmental requirements for products or systems.
2. Conduct principle quality control & environmental policy meetings as needed.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.          

DIMENSIONS:

Responsible for overall corporate & environmental quality.  Responsible for inspection, determination and maintaining quality standards for assigned area.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:

Daily contact with all engineering areas, production personnel, vendors, and customers.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, material science, ceramics or a related engineering field as well as three (3) years of internal auditing, quality assurance & environmental experience is required.  Must have the ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures, quality control & assurance terminology and other technical manuals. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations and basic statistics.  Must have good overall communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization. Working knowledge of CAD programs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This is not a supervisory position.
