A. Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
- Ensures that code meets specifications. Writes code that is easily maintainable. Is able to debug own code for preliminary testing. Must practice standard software development methodologies and standards.
- Enhance, modify, and repair existing code.
- Contribute to the development, delivery and maintenance of technology-based business solutions.
- Code, test, and implement configuration changes to software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements.
- Will be involved in the full software development life-cycle in coordination with other engineers, QA, and designers and should be confident and adept in articulating ideas in a clear, well thought out manner.
- Generate innovative ideas and support new ideas or approaches that enhance service
- Ensure that all architectural/coding guidelines are followed.
- Assist Application Developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications.
- Assist in the preparation and documentation of program requirements and specifications.
- Individual will also provide guidance to and review the work of other team members as well as investigate ways to potentially improve existing code and implement improvements.
- Participating in requirements debriefing and finalizing requirements
- Lead root-cause analysis, communicate options for resolution and provide recommendations to customer-facing technology problems
- Providing ballpark estimates for prioritization
- Providing LOE and WBS after system design is complete
- Designing system design once requirements are finalized
- Conducting trainings (JUGs - Java User Group etc.) once a month
- Acts as a liaison for the technical team to the project leadership team and management
- Analyze issues and helps find approaches to solve problems within the team
- Should ensure that proper check and balance between development phases to minimize issues or requirement slips.
- Participate in software development process implementation like setting coding standards, Continuous Integration etc.
Position Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information technology or equivalent experience.
- Must have at least 10 years of hands-on coding, leadership and management experience.
- Strong development experience. Work experience in frameworks like STRUTS, SPRING, Hibernate, Top link etc. would be a plus.
- Experience in web application development using J2EE technologies such as EJB, JSP, Struts, Servlets, JDBC, Java and Websphere Commerce Servers 7, Websphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD) and Websphere Application Server (WAS).
- Experience in Websphere Application Developer and WCS including installation and configuration (Websphere 7.0 and later versions)
- Experience in installing, configuring and administrating Web servers such as IBM HTTP server, Apache and IIS would be a plus
