Job Description

Under the overall supervision of FAO Representative in Pakistan, in close collaboration of Assistant FAO Representative (Programme) and direct supervision of the Senior Project Coordinator, PCU Hyderabad and in close collaboration with field teams, the Social Mobiliser will be responsible to perform the following tasks and duties:
Summary of Major Responsibilities
1. Conduct consultative community meetings on project interventions (FAO-UNTFHS).
a. Identifying potential project target villages as per defined criteria.
b. Identify existing COs/CBOs and initiate community dialogue for project orientation and need assessment Ensure equal participation of all community members in the meeting (male/female/children , minority and disabled)
c. Sensitize community about the project activities and its outcomes to ensure community interest and willingness.
d. Conduct PRA exercise for the need identification and prioritization in the project targeted villages;
e. Fill out the need assessment forms and submit to the project offices;
f. Conduct regular meeting with selected CO/CBOs and provide project support according to the assessed livelihoods needs related to agriculture
2. To assist the farming communities to form new farmers groups and to further strengthen the operation & function of existing community farmer groups / organizations/ water user associations WUAs.
a. Facilitate FFS facilitators in identifying potential participants for Farmer Field Schools (FFS) farmer groups/ WUAs in targeted villages.
b. Form farmer groups/ WUAs with village cooperation including female participation at all levels.
c. Register all members in hard and soft prescribed templates.
d. Arrange & organize consultative meetings with farmer groups on their roles and responsibilities.
3. Ensure documentation of all related activities in soft & hard
a. Develop and maintain all the activity documents in soft and hard.
b. Maintain documentation files of the activities respective tagged folders.
4. Submission of work plans and activity reports with PCU.
a. Ensure timely submission of weekly/monthly work plans
b. Develop & submit fortnightly work plans & daily activity reports.
5. Mobilize the community about the project inputs and its importance in their development to create ownership.
a. Assist during the distributions of project inputs for all the components.
b. Maintain record of distributions of project inputs for all the components.
c. Ensure the proper distribution of project inputs at all levels.
6. Handling beneficiaries/stakeholders complaints
a. Provide full cooperation and support to PCU team handling project related complaints if any.
7. Any other assignments
a. Help the PCU team to organise and run the capacity building programmes in project area Responsible to form root level, unit level committees and Sub-Area Health Board.
b. Work for community resolutions regarding various issues / interventions in the project villages;
c. Organise awareness and visibility campaigns in the project villages.
d. Any other duty or task as assigned under the project.
