LPP has been implementing a very successful and affective Tuberculoses
treatment program in partnership with priv
ate sector donor the Ali
Tareen Farms. Similarly other areas of community development and social
mobilization have been agriculture progressive practices and water
saving and efficient agronomic practices shared with small farmers.
After successful implementation of sanitation projects, donors were
approached to explore grant for extension of project through out the
district. The Country Director World Bank for Pakistan visited LPP in
March, 2003 and was impressed with the innovative approach of low cost
community owned rural sanitation. Subsequently, the possibility of
funding was explored for scaling up the activity, to cover a large
geographical area in order to demonstrate partnership with the elected
local government responsible for municipal services. Initiating the
sanitation program in urban areas LPP started its intervention in rural
areas of District Lodhran which was extended to Tehsil Khanpur District
Rahim Yar Khan. LPP is also working as supporting and teaching institute
for Tehsil Municipal Administrations since the inception of devolution.
Strong relationships between LPP and Local Govt. Institutions are one
of the strength of this organization. Moreover LPP has supported dozens
of national as well as international organizations to flourish the
concept of low cost rural sanitation on participatory approach
