QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a QA engineer responsible for delivering high quality reporting and analytics systems. Experience in Agile/scrum methodology and working directly with developers and project leads are a must. Must have strong testing skills to quickly write test plans and test cases for both manual and automated tests.

The successful candidate will need to be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Keys to success in this role include good judgment, strong analytical thought process, and software design abilities as well as strong communication skills.

• Perform data quality assurance analysis; validate data and reports across multiple systems
• Work closely with developers and analysts to understand design to create test plans and test cases
• Write test plans and enter test cases into test management tool
• Create automation plans, tool design, framework and automation test scripts
• Perform load and performance tests; create scripts and environment set up
• Participate in daily stand up meetings and weekly planning sessions
• Specification, configuration, capacity planning, and maintenance of testing servers

Qualifications:

Number of Years of Work Experience: 3

Required Skills:

•At least 3 years of testing experience with sound knowledge of quality principles and test strategies for both system and data QA processes

•Solid experience with relational database and SQL; capable of constructing and interpreting complex queries

•Experience working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) process

•Comfortable with build systems(ANT/Maven/Quickbuild)

•Familiar with automation tools: Sikuli/Selenium/QTP

•Used one or more Agile tools: Rally/Greenhopper

Preferred Skills:

•Preferred experience working in a business intelligence or reporting environment

•Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills

•Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a dynamic, cross functional environment

•Strong analytical skills & attention to detail

•Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

•Familiarity with NoSQL technologies like Hadoop, HBase, or Cassandra a plus

•Proficiency with MS Excel – advanced features like pivot tables a plus

•Ability to work with minimal guidance

Education: B.S. Computer Science or equivalent
