The Intel Ireland Team is seeking motivated graduate and postgraduate personnel to support its expanding R&D operations for an 11 month fixed term contract. The embedded software engineers in this team work with Intel Architecture Groups worldwide to design the next generation of leading edge Silicon products.
The team is looking for enthusiastic talented graduate engineers with the ability to contribute to the architecture and design of these products.
Training will be provided for successful candidates.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Contributing within experienced teams to the definition & design of new Intel products.
- Development of embedded software components to enable new products, including:
- Enabling development environments and supporting software engineering tools (debuggers, compilers, Eclipse, etc.) for new products.
- Porting of operating systems and device driver development.
- Development and validation of BIOS and Bootloader components.
- Involvement in all elements of the software development life cycle for the product.
- Validation of software components employing a variety of test methods.
- Working directly with silicon/hardware architects and logic designers to influence overall system design.
- Develop architecture and specifications of the product for our customers
- Interaction with the Intel product divisions worldwide to define and support product test and support strategies.
- Travel may be required from time to time to visit other Intel sites.
Qualifications
The candidate must be a College Graduate who has a relevant Masters level qualification or an honours Bachelors (e.g.: B.Eng. or B.Sc.) Degree student expecting to graduate in 2013 in a Computer Science or Engineering discipline (which would include but not exclusively, Electronic Eng., Electrical Eng. or Computer Science etc.). Qualification should be at minimum of Level 8 in the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications www.nfq.ie ) or equivalent.

Skills:
- A keen interest in the fundamentals of technology and a proven ability to learn.
- Experience programming in Java, C, C++ or similar languages is an advantage.
