MaxIT247 is positioning itself to be the managed IT services provider of choice for businesses of all sizes. With a vision that is quite different from the existing players, we are looking for talented and hard working individuals who can help us change the landscape of the market.
This position is for a Software Engineer. The individual must be qualified to code in at least one programming language such as C, C++, PHP, Python, Perl or similar. Individual must also have familiarity of databases and database concepts including SQL. Web development and object oriented programming is preferred.
We are looking for a candidate who:
1. Works effectively with users to gather requirements, design and develop applications.
2. Works with all phases of the application lifecycle from analysis, coding, providing technological support to customers, testing and implementation.
3. Gathers detailed user requirements and business process analysis data; conducts functional user interviews to document functional, system, customization, and data requirements and data sources; formulates system concepts and architecture, specifies requirements, and develops implementation approaches.
4. Performs code fixes for documented defects, works as part of a collaborative team maintaining and enhancing multiple web applications.
5. Provides timely testing harnesses and documentation to support and facilitate the release of a high-quality product and create required technical documentation.
6. Continuously learns and applies best practices for application superiority and increased application performance while able to write and maintain elegant, maintainable source code.
7. Provides technical/engineering support for existing applications from code delivery until the retirement of the application.
8. Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production.
9. Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
10. Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements:
1. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
a. Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
b. Candidates must have a strong background, advanced knowledge and working experience in IT technologies, security architecture and system life-cycle phases are recommended.
c. Familiarity and past work experience with programming, testing, web development, Object Oriented Development, Iterative Application Development methodology skills.
d. Strong leadership, teaming/interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are required.
e. Drive for Results (Service, Quality, and Continuous Improvement) – Ensure procedures and processes are in place that lead to delivery of quality results and continually reassess their effectiveness to achieve continuous improvement.
f. Communication – Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to share and receive information and ideas from all levels of the organization in order to achieve the desired results.
g. Teamwork – Commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.
h. Customer Service Focus – Demonstrate a focus on listening to and understanding client/customer needs and then delighting the client/customer by exceeding service and quality expectations.
2. Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience
a. Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
b. One to three years experience in application programming in similar coding language as required for specific job function.
c. Linux experience would be a huge positive!
